Terms of Use
Last updated: 29 October 2026.
These terms cover everything called Silex: the iPhone app, the free tools on trysilex.com, the free browser extension, and the free Notion recovery tracker. They're short on purpose.
1. Who we are
Silex is made by one person, Kyrylo Lozovyi, in Kyiv, Ukraine. Contact: support@trysilex.com.
2. Silex is not medical care
Silex is a self-help tool. It doesn't diagnose or treat gambling disorder or any other condition, and it isn't a crisis service. Nothing in it is medical, legal or financial advice. If you're in danger or thinking about harming yourself, call your local emergency number or one of the free helplines listed on every page of this site.
3. Blocking is a help, not a guarantee
No blocker catches every gambling site or app, and any blocker can be removed by the person who installed it. The app, the extension and the website's lists are built in good faith and updated, but we can't promise that something won't get through. Self-exclusion with operators and your bank is the stronger layer, and our self-exclusion guide explains how.
4. The app and subscriptions
The app is distributed through Apple's App Store. Subscriptions are sold, billed, renewed and refunded by Apple, under Apple's terms, and are cancelled in your Apple Account settings. Deleting the app doesn't cancel a subscription. Prices and the free trial are shown in the app before you buy, and on the support page. Unless the App Store listing shows a different licence, the app is licensed to you under Apple's standard end user licence agreement.
5. The free tools
The website's self-check and calculators, the browser extension and the Notion recovery tracker are free. You can use them as much as you like, for yourself or to help someone else. When you connect the Notion tracker, you're asking us to create pages in your Notion workspace; those pages are yours, and what you write in them is between you and Notion. How each tool handles data is in the privacy policy.
6. Fair use
Please don't try to break, overload or reverse-engineer our services to harm others, or use them to promote gambling. The articles on this site may be quoted and linked with credit; please don't republish them in full as your own.
7. As-is, and the limits of our responsibility
Silex is provided as it is, without warranties, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, or for losses caused by a site or app the blocker didn't catch. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited by contract.
8. Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top changes, and the current version is always at this address.
